A customer brought in this old Dell laptop, riddled with adware and almost unusable.
We don’t encourage the use of Windows XP because it’s unsupported by Microsoft now, meaning that security loopholes and weaknesses are no longer being fixed. Also the range of software which can be used on XP is starting to get smaller now.
The customer had heard of Linux (actually GNU/Linux to give it it’s correct name) from a friend and was keen to try it out, so I installed Linux Mint, one of the more popular variants (see photo)
