The owner had pushed a SD memory card into the iMac’s cd slot, apparently it had been there for years before he got in touch with me!
After 5 minutes carefully trying to access it via the CD slot, I decide that it’s not going to happen this way, so we need to open up the Mac.
The A1311 models are easy because the front is held on with magnets, a few screws holding the motherboard down, and some more holding the drive in place. Oh and a few more to open the Superdrive casing. If you’re doing this yourself then there’s a few cables to disconnect along the way
While we have everything apart, I cleaned the Superdrive lens.
